Advanced Life Support (ALS) Society
Purpose
- To create an Organization for Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedics and EMT-Intermediates that
are members of the ND EMS Association.
- To provide uniform information, training, continuing education and service, and promote
professionalism and the national standards for persons concerned with emergency medical services.
- To assist in the development and improvement of EMS in North Dakota.
- To support the work of the state DEMST in the field of Emergency Medical Care.
Membership
The ALS society would like to encourage the membership of everyone involved with ALS care in the
state of North Dakota to include, but not limited to medical directors, emergency physicians,
other interested physicians, nurses, respiratory care practitioners, and others interested in
issues involving pre-hospital advanced life support care.
To be a member of the ALS society one must first be a member in good standing with the ND EMS Association.
The ND ALS society has 2 different levels of membership, active members and allied members. Active
members are anyone who is employed or volunteers as an EMT-Paramedic or EMT-Intermediate who
ascribes to, and practices the code of ethics of the NAEMT. The allied member is any person not
an EMT-Paramedic or EMT-Intermediate, or eligible for active membership, but who is interested in
and supports the objectives and code of ethics of the society.
Membership Dues in the ALS Society are $15 for one year, or $20 for a 2 year
membership. You may join or renew your NDEMSA and/or other society

or download the mail-in form from our "Membership Information" link.
Education
The ALS Society provides presenters for the advanced level sessions at the annual spring conference as well as other ALS training sessions throughout the year.
